The words I thought I would never hear...

Well it seems like its been a very long road, but I think we finally made it. We have been trying to potty train Aisley, and for the most part she has done really
well. But with my patience (or the lack thereof!) it wasn't fast enough! But the other morning she had just woke up and was sitting on the potty, and said "Mommy, I'm a BIG GIRL NOW!!!" I was so excited to hear her say it.

We started with a treat for going potty, but that didn't work. So I made her a potty chart so she could put stickers on when she went, and she seemed to really like that. When she filled up a row we went and got an ice cream. And that was fun! Then for her big reward she wanted to go play at the park. She hasn't ever been, but she knew where both were in town. Everytime we passed by them she reminded us, that she was going there when she was a big girl. She got to where that is all she could talk about. Everyone she talked to that is what she told them too every single time! But its been so blasted hot lately so we have been putting it off just hoping for some cooler weather, but its just not happening. Jed wanted
to wait until December, but the poor girl has worked so hard for it! So Jed had a day off, and we had to go to town to do a few things so we ended up stopping and letting her swing and go down the slide a couple times. She wasn't exactly dressed
for the park since she insisted on wearing a dress that day, but we made it work. It was hot so we promised her that we would come back when she could play longer. She had fun. Then we got an ice cream on the way home to top off her big girl day!
The pickles were a hit!! They turned out great.

The other day Jed brought home a bunch of cucumbers from a friend's garden. They were small cute ones that looked perfect for pickles. So Jed told me to figure out how to do it. So I searched the internet, and finally got up enough nerve to just try it. So while he was working one night Aisley and I made pickles! She had a chair pulled over to the counter so she could "watch", but that didn't last
long....She was then telling me that she could do it. She wanted to help. Well I just wanted to get done so I told her that her hands weren't clean. Well her response to that was....I could wash real quick! So she did, and she filled all the jars for me. I had to stop for a second and get a couple pictures of her first bottling experience. She was so proud of them. She made sure her daddy saw them when he got home. We haven't tasted them yet, but they all sealed and look pretty!

Family Camping Trip

We went camping again over the 4th of July. It was great to spend time with family. Its not that we live that far apart, but with everyone's busy schedules we hardly get to all be together. So it was great to be together for a couple days.

Thanks Carter for bringing the flag to raise to honor and help celebrate our freedom!

Aisley had a great time. She loved being big with the rest of the kids riding bikes. It rained everyday so there was plenty of mud for her to ride her bike through. She loved being taken for walks, and rides in the stroller. And when she came back she always had a handful of flowers for me. She was so cute! We took a camp trailer, and she loved that. By the time it got dark, she was ready to go to her house and go to bed. Well all she really wanted was to go inside the trailer and play. It was our little family time every night. She enjoyed it. She told us that the camp trailer was her favorite house!

It was great to go, but its always nice to get back home. I finally got everything cleaned, washed and put away. That is always the worst part about going.

Thanks everyone for making the trip to be together. Here are a few of the highlights...
