Family trip to the SNOW!
The kids got a sled for Christmas so we have been trying to find a time to go play in the snow. Then Hannah called and wanted to know if we could go on the King's holiday and Jed was off that day! So most of Jed's family went with us. It turned out to be a good trip. It wasn't the best snow, but we still managed to find a few hills to go down. Had some snow ball fights, ate lunch, had hot chocolate and cookies, and called it a fun day! (pause the music at the bottom then click play)

Christmas 2010
Oh I love getting ready for Christmas! I love all the magic about it, and using it for bribery of course! Christmas Eve is always full of finishing up gifts, wrapping, and setting up! I didn't make it to bed this year until about two. Jed was good about trying to help get things ready, but he got all his stuff done and went on to bed. I wasn't in bed 30 seconds and Rigdon was awake. He was not feeling well. So we were up most of the rest of the night. But atleast he slept that long so I could get everything done! He still had his cold, ear infections, and teething...so needless to say he wasn't the happiest kid on Christmas. He didn't even see everything he got until almost a week later. We had to wake Aisley up about 8...the girl loves her beauty rest! She was so excited though! I love that first look on her face when she comes running in to tell me "Mom, Santa came!" It makes a sleepless night so worth it!

The kids were so happy with what they got. Aisley got her baby and all she would need for a nursery! And Rigdon got a dump truck, balls, and tractors! And then we got them a picnic table too. Aisley is always wanting to eat outside and have picnics...it feels like we're camping which the girl LOVES to do! So we got all our presents unwrapped, then we were off to Granny and Papa's to open presents, and then my mom's for lunch and more presents! It was a great day. We loved being with all the family and definately missed the ones that couldn't come.
Even though its fun to play up the magic of Santa, we still talk about and remember the reason that we have Christmas. When we were in Duncan for Christmas Eve we drove by the best nativity scene I've ever seen. It looked so real. It was just spread across this hillside with spotlights on the different scenes..so cool! It is such a season of giving, and thinking of others. I wish I could carry that spirit throughout the whole year to be more Christlike. I think the saddest day of the year is December 26th when we stop giving. Aisley is still singing Christmas songs so I hope the Spirit will carry with us all through the year.

Polar Express
As part of the kids Christmas this year we took them on the Polar Express! We met Seth, Courtney, and their kids up there, and had a great time. It was just raining when we got there. We met Mrs. Clause and wrote a letter to Santa Clause while waiting for the train, then by the time we got back from the North Pole it was SNOWING!! About 3 inches had already fallen. It was so great! I think I was just as excited as the kids were. It made it perfect. It was a little slow getting back to our hotel. The freeway was running one lane about 35 mph, but we made it safe. Then poor Rigdon ran a fever and was up ALL night. Poor guy, I thought he was just teething. But it turned out he had ear infections to go along with it. Even with all that he still was a good traveler. Aisley said her favorite part was singing all the songs on the train, and getting to throw snow balls!! There was about 6 inches on the ground the next morning so she got to play in it for a little bit. It was a fun trip! Thanks guys for the fun memories!!
